At Kumon, we're committed to finding the right franchisees who share our passion for children's education. The process from attending an Information Meeting to being selected for training can take up to two months.
Here's what you can expect:
1. Meet the Team!
Attend a Kumon Information Meeting to learn about Kumon, meet the team, and ask any questions. It's the first step to getting to know us and for us to get to know you.

2. Testing
After the meeting, you'll take two 30-minute tests in maths and English. These tests assess the skills you need to guide students. Passing both is required to move forward.

3. Application
If you pass the tests, complete an online Information Request to tell us why you'd be a great Kumon franchisee.
4. Interviews
You'll have two interviews with the team from your local Kumon office. Each interview lasts about 90 minutes. Successful candidates will be invited to New Franchisee Training.
5. Negotiating a Sale (if applicable)
If purchasing an existing Kumon Centre, negotiations with the current franchisee will start after the interview process.
6. New Franchisee Training
Training is an interactive, online process. You'll complete self-study, followed by up to 16 days of online group sessions. It's a great chance to learn and connect with other new franchisees.
7. Signing the Franchise Agreement & Opening
Once training is complete and your venue is approved, you'll sign the Franchise Agreement. Most new franchisees open their franchises within three months. You also continue your learning throughout your first year, with ongoing support and professional development.
